SUBJECT MATTER –
The 6+1 Writing Traits.
FORMAT –
Using a slideshow with breaks for application after each step taught, students are taught to write sequence poems. Group and individual work is used. These poems begin with emphasis on the traits of IDEAS and ORGANIZATION but, by the end of the workshop, each of the 6+1 traits are incorporated. This will be a tool that writers, students, and educators alike will perfect and use again and again.
TITLES INCOPRORATED –
While some picture books are referenced, the focus in the workshops is on the writing application rather than the reading practice and recommendations.
INCLUSIONS –
Students leave with step-by-step bookmark reminders of the sequence poem methods. Teachers leave with workshop reminders and blank copies of the group work.
