“There is no genre of writing I love more than
writing for children. I love everything about it. I love the honest
simplicity of the characters and their emotions. I love the limitless, but
believable boundaries to which I can take my tales. I love the underlying
meanings in children’s books that remain as true (or more true) in adulthood
as they are in our youth. Most of all, I love the audience. Children are
still innocent! They still want to learn and imagine and believe in beauty
and adventure and excitement and love and peace and hope. They still want
to read and they still want you to read to them. I see it in their eyes
when I share a story and I hear it in their voices when they ask for more.
Yes, I love children’s books. I’m lucky to be in a world in which I can
share my passion and I dream of writing for and captivating the youngest
audiences for as long as I live.”
